Kalamazoo Valley Community College is Hiring a Public Safety Officer Near Kalamazoo, MI
This part-time position reports to the Captain of Public Safety. A Public Safety Officer performs law enforcement functions on the grounds and around the perimeters of all Kalamazoo Valley Community College sites.
Duties include:
- Patrolling campus locations and surrounding streets.
- Enforcing local and state laws and parking regulations.
- Providing service functions including directing traffic and assistance to students and staff.
- Responding to emergency situations of accidental, medical, industrial, and criminal nature, and taking appropriate action as needed.
- An Associate’s degree in an appropriate field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Candidates must have MCOLES certification and be First Aid/CPR certifiable.
- Candidates selected to interview for this position will be required to submit to criminal record background and credit history checks.
- At least 5 years of law enforcement experience is strongly preferred.
- First Aid/CPR certification is strongly preferred.
This posting will remain open until filled. Priority will be given to candidates who apply by March 31, 2024.
